Since Dan is nice, he waves to Asher every morning — or whenever he first sees him — but the first thing Asher said to Dan ("What's wrong with you?") kind of made a bad first impression, so Dan doesn't really speak to him.

Also: Onyx is kind of scary. Dan does not make petting attempts.

Onyx also frequently eyes Dan's rats as though they are tiny T-bone steaks, I imagine. This does not make Dan happy.

He might talk to Asher about it someday. :O
